The purpose of the Support Coordinator position is to coordinate all support functions (logistics, finance and HR) in the Maroua office. Reporting to the Area Manager, s/he will be responsible for managing day-to-day tasks.

Duties and responsibilities

Generic responsibilities

•Supervises staffs (Officer and /or assistant) logistics, finance, HR / administration of Maroua office

• Member of The Area Management Team

• Ensures adherence to policies, manuals, guidelines and NRC donor requirements

• Provide data on operational support in the region of action plan (Area) and coordinate and align with operational support program plans at the Area

• Responsible for ensuring quality support to project implementation

• Helps to support budget for the area, budgets at the area, including support costs, BVA etc.

• Responsible for monitoring the implementation of new specific SOPs, guidelines and tools in the area (HR, Logistics / ICT and Finance)

• Ensures building staff capacity in support functions and the transfer of key skills

• Responsible for the improvement and consolidation of support functions in its area

• Ensures that the processes are transparent, economic (cost effective), and in accordance with anti-corruption guidelines

Specific responsibilities

• Implements human resources, logistical and financial management systems, ensure that they are effective, efficient and transparent to enable the successful implementation of projects in the area office, and thus meet the objectives of the country strategic plan

• Contribute to program coordination meetings, and provide an update and analysis of the implementation of procurement plans, recruitment plans / staff training and other support functions related to the implementation projects in the Area

• Ensure that the level and capacity of support functions are tailored to the needs in support of program activities in the area

• Provide monthly reports, to the Area Manager and other Managers

• Ensure that the storage (physical and electronic) data (finance, personnel, beneficiaries ...) is secure

• Ensure compliance with donor requirements depending on funding in the Far North area offices

• Implement internal processes, employee goals and learning, initiatives set out in the annual action plan in the Far North Area offices

• Make suggestions to improve and update existing policies and procedures, and recommendations for new guidelines and SOPs.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in compliance, knowledge of Donor Rules and Regulations in INGO Procédures, the local labour, customs and tax laws
  • Bachelors with field experience in a humanitarian context
  • Fluency in English and French
  • Previous work experience in complex and unstable environments
  • Strong planning skills, organization and interpersonal relationships
  • Excellent analytical, presentation and reporting skills

Personal qualities

  • Ability to respond to changing prioritie
  • Very good knowledge and / or have worked in the Far North of Cameroon
  • Very good command of ICT tools and Microsoft office
  • Ability to work in a multicultural setting
  • Systematic mind-set, attention to detail and capability of structuring a large amount of information in an easy accessible way
  • Experience with developing internal procedures, legal documents, contracts…

Duty Station: Maroua in  Far North Cameroon with 25% of Travel in the field
