JOB ANNOUNCEMENT

The Georgetown University Center for Global Health Practice and Impact (CGHPI) serves countries to improve their population health and wellbeing and to safeguard against health-related threats by advancing the use of evidence and human-centered enterprise architecture on the path towards achieving equity and social justice. To achieve this mission, we catalyze the uptake, spread, and implementation of innovations; triangulate data from different sources, and tailor visualization of the information for each audience; design and implement integrated service delivery models; support communities of practice to inform policy and practice through efficient data use and horizontal and vertical collaboration; disseminate best practices and evidence globally through open source learning networks; build global, collaborative, multi-disciplinary, and interprofessional networks; undertake research that is informed by local needs; and invest in local leadership to own, provide oversight, and sustain implemented interventions. Georgetown University, through CGHPI, has recently received an award from U.S Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (U.S. CDC) through funding from the U.S President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) to support HIV response efforts in Cameroon for achievement of HIV epidemic control to implement a program titled Translating Data and Evidence into Impact (TIDE). As a result, CGHPI is recruiting for the following program implementation positions. All prospective candidates must be fluent in French and working knowledge of English. These positions will be based in Yaoundé or Bertoua. CGHPI is operating in Cameroon as Georgetown Global Health LLC (GGHC)

Summary:

This position provides direct service quality improvement, monitoring and evaluation support to one (1) site, and technical assistance to two-six (2-6) sites by ensuring the completed implementation of quality improvement and monitoring and evaluation activities at the assigned facilities. Assignments are specific and work is reviewed upon completion by the SI/HI Team Lead. Specific Duties ? Monitoring and Evaluation o Coordinate and oversee all program reporting activities at designated facilities o Maintain functional recording, reporting and data use systems at designated facilities o Train and mentor data associates and data clerks to improve their capacity to collect and report patient level data consistently and on time o Ensure all program activities are quantitatively captured, reported and linked to expected site performance o Ensure that all assessment and evaluations and quantifiable and adequately linked for program monitoring and improvement o Troubleshoot data quality issues in all facilities o Use the RADET (Reporting and Audit Determination tool) to ensure data quality in paper based and electronic systems, and to present this data for clinical decision making o Coordinate weekly, monthly and quarterly performance dashboard review and program reporting activities in the region o Implement program performance metrics and program data collection strategies and tools in supported sites within the region o Build capacity of district and regional health delegate health information management personnel o Support the process of institutionalizing Data Demand and Information Use for all mentorship teams and supported facilities in the region o Conduct monthly mini data quality assurance (DQA) at sites ? Quality Improvement, in Collaboration with the CQI Specialist: o Coordinate and oversee all quality improvement activities at designated facilities o Develop functional continuous quality improvement (CQI) teams at all designated facilities o Train and mentor site-level multi-disciplinary teams to adopt CQI principles in delivery of comprehensive HIV services o Lead implementation of weekly improvement process for targeted weekly monitoring and monthly achievements o Act as a content expert within the mentorship team in development of remediation interventions following SIMS and other site performance assessment exercises o Complete the Facility Quality assessment to demonstrate the degree to which processes and standards have been institutionalized, which serves as a SIMS readiness assessment o Conduct and oversee implementation of needs assessments for quality improvement o Guide sites and mentorship teams to develop Performance Dashboard Reviews and use patient level data/information to inform key clinical and management decisions o Support benchmarking and implementation of best practices between different sites o Support adoption, spread and implementation of national CQI Guidelines in designated facilities to ensure consistency in clinical care standards o Develop collaborative learning and quality of care improvement networks in the region and district to share learned lessons and evaluations results ? Maintain confidential information ? Perform other job-related duties as requested Qualifications and Experience ? Bachelor’s Degree in Biostatistics/Epidemiology/Health Informatics/Computer Engineering ? Familiarity and proficiency in DAMA patient electronic medical records management solution ? At least 5 years doing similar work ? Excellent presentation and writing skills ? Has experience in Data Analysis ? Ability to transfer knowledge to diverse audiences through training, mentoring and other formal and non-formal methods ? Ability to work effectively under pressure and to organize and prioritize competing activities ? Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment ? Flexibility, patience, dedication, creativity and willingness to learn ? Communicate efficiently and effectively both verbally and in writing ?
