We are currently looking to hire a (SWA) Area Fleet Manager to join our team in Douala.

 

The Fleet Manager will cover SWA area Countries (Cameroon, Angola, Congo, DRC, Gabon, Chad, Central Africa Republic, and Equatorial Guinea) and report to the Head of Area Product Management.

 

He/she will be responsible to manage an existing extensible fleet of trucks and trailers to grow profitably our Inland trucking service in SWA Area. Incumbent is primarily responsible to drive profitability (owner of PnL) through ensuring optimal productivity, growing revenue, taking out cost and establishing/implementing innovative solutions for fleet management.

 

Key responsibilities

Profit & Loss

 

• New and existing customer management,

• Truck performance (cost/utilization)

• Continuous improvement & optimization of trucking assets

• Investment decisions and follow up on the same

Operational excellence

• HSSE adherence

• Drive compliance & regulatory adherence

• Truck operation basis security / IT standards

• Optimal productivity of trucks

General Management

• Lease administration

• Involved in contract management with vendors

• Drive adherence to governance framework

• Overall stakeholder management of external partners

 

Leadership:

 

• Develop talent pipeline

• Engagement of Fleet teams within the Area

• Maintain positive relationship while working closely with external partners

 

Accountable for:

 

• P&L, GP, EBIT

• Cost to serve

• Asset utilization

• Customer Pipeline

• Combined KPI

• Execution of Trucking strategy in SWA Area

 

We are looking for

• 5+ Years of Fleet Management experience

• SWA Area trucking market knowledge

• Financial accumen – ability to read, interpret and act on P&L

• Strong skills for concise and precise reporting of activities

• Self directed / entrepreneurial

• Team player

• Proven trackrecord for leadership & team management

• Stakeholder management & collaboration in a matrix organization

• Commercial mindset

• Cultural openness

• Strong communication & interpersonal skills

• Ability to develop strong customer relations
