Our growing organisation-ActivSpaces is seeking to hire a Project & Partnership Coordinator. The Projects & Partnership Coordinator will be responsible for preparing and producing, in the draft and final form, grant proposals, and solicitations for funding. The coordinator researches and recommends funding opportunities; develops solicitations and proposals for general operating needs, programs, exhibits, and capital projects; prepares progress and final reports. The coordinator will be in charge of building and maintaining strong and authentic relationships with partners and funders.

To be successful, the Project & Partnership Coordinator must be able to write well, have proficient knowledge of fundraising methods and be committed to the mission of ActivSpaces. Preferred applicants should be dateline-driven, competent in using Microsoft Office applications and have exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills. A bachelor's degree in a related field of study and at least one (1) year of relevant experience is an added advantage.

Project/Partnership Coordinator Responsibilities:

§ Research and identify new grant/funding opportunities and advice on fundraising strategies

§ Track and create a calendar of grant opportunities – including deadline dates, required materials, etc

§ Prepare grant proposals in draft and final form that make compelling the need for financial support and address identified organizational funding priorities

§ Maintain chart of grant applications: including grants applied to, the status of the application, grant deadline

§ Identify all requirements of grant to ensure all necessary attachments are submitted on time

§ Prioritize grants to apply for (based on size of grant and time funding is released)

§ Meets proposal deadline by establishing priorities and target dates for information gathering, writing, review, approval, and transmittal.

§ Build and maintain a strong relationship with partners and funders

§ Maintains quality results by ensuring appropriate proposal and report writing standards including readability, consistency, and tone.

§ Monitor and report on the progress of a project to all stakeholders

§ Ensure projects adhere to frameworks and all documentation is maintained appropriately for each project.

§ Play a central role in managing the administration of the portfolio of collaborative projects with external organisations and funding bodies

§ Lead the routine partnership review meeting with all active funders/partners in order to ensure the health of the grant/partnership

§ Assist ActivSpaces Staff to strategize ways to ensure project delivery meets targets by referring to possible capacity-building initiatives linked to the project.

§ With guidance from funding organisation, ensure ActivSpaces staff are aware of donor guidelines and policies and that these are adhered to at all times, immediately raising any suspected non-compliance issues with management.

§ Resolve issues that arise during the engagement cycle, updating the management on key concerns and reporting high risk or complex issues

§ Participate in project kick-off meetings with partners when new sub-grants are awarded, involving other concerned ActivSpaces staff

§ Assume other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Director or management.

Requirements:

1. Professional competencies

§ Bachelor degree or equivalent

§ Minimum 2 years experience in the humanitarian/development field, preferably in grant writing, projects/program coordination. partnerships

§ Proven ability to work effectively with international, national and local organisations

§ Excellent coordination, communication (verbal and written) and networking skills

§ Fluency in both English and French (speaking, reading, writing) will be an advantage

§ Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and cloud.
