      NURSING TEAM SUPERVISOR (OUTREACH ACTIVITIES) (Ref: NSUP OUTR180821)

Main Purpose

·       Plan, organize, and evaluate the activities concerning nursing and the team associated, according to MSF values, policies and protocols and universal health standards, in order to warrant the quality and continuity of the health care and the development of the plan of action


 

Principal Tasks

Ø  Carry out the functions and tasks associated to nursing i.e. perform as a nurse or anesthetist, whenever required or needed, in order to optimize the resources, contributing with his/her knowledge and experience.

Ø  Implement all the protocols and hygiene procedures, and supervise his/her team follow the same standards, in order to warrant the quality of the care and service in his/her speciality.

Ø  Organize and coordinate the activities of his/her team (week’s schedule, annual leave, absences, etc.), evaluate their performance and define and ensure the needs for training of staff, in order to ensure the coverage of the human resources needs and maintain high standards of quality.

Ø  Carry out and/or supervise the ( decentralized) pharmacy and medical equipment management (drugs orders, follow-up of the stock, storage conditions, inventories, follow-up of expired drugs and their destruction, drugs consumption, etc.)in his or her department, in order to satisfy the needs of material with efficiency and effectiveness.

Ø  Ensuring  that all staff  using medical devices are qualified and trained. Ensuring that cleaning and minor maintenance tasks are performed according to the protocols. Reporting any malfunction to the project biomedical service.

Ø  Carry-out and/or coordinate administrative (exit-paper, transfer-paper, etc.), information and data collection (patient files, forms, statistics, etc.) tasks, and elaborate regular reporting, in order to have updated and reliable information about the day-to-day activity in the project, output/ outcome and support decision-taking.

Ø  Give feedback/ reports to medical focal point.

Ø  Coordinate and organize the trainings/supervision of the DMC volunteers and other staff primary health care nurses under his/her supervision with special focus in following all appropriate protocols and procedures of DMC activities with the support of the DMC NAM and ensuring the good team work and collaboration with facility.

Ø  Carry-out and supervise all the documentations of the DMC volunteers and the Primary health care according to the DMC activities (fill in patients files, referral forms, drugs consumption…), and ensure all information are accurate;

Ø  Follow up the referral pathway between the community to primary health care with nurses in facility ensure referral to secondary health facility are filled MSF criteria.

Ø  Performing community onsite supervision with DMC nurses and provide technical support any gap or challenge report to NAM

Ø  Ensuring data quality and reporting on time for all primary health facility and DMCV according deadline sent to data encoders and cross checking if data entered

Ø  Participating report weekly, monthly, quarterly and annually.

Ø  Planning activities for nurse under him and flowing up their performance regarding respective area.

Ø  Monitoring and controlling drug conception for health facility and DMCV according MSF protocols.

Ø  Preparing with DMC nurse monthly training for DMCV and focal person and share all transversal department.

Ø  Organizing regular meeting for supporting departments and health facility to improve the activities

Ø  Reinforcing IPC measures in primary health care and DMCV according universal standard

Ø  Ensure proper referral pathway for SGBV cases from community, PHC to secondary facility

Ø  Ensure active and timely reporting of all alert cases coming from community/primary health care using active surveillance system

 

Required Qualifications

Education

Speciality (nurse or anesthetist) diploma essential.Desirable Bachelor in Science of Nursing

Experience

Ø  Essential 2 years of previous experience. Having worked in MSF or other NGO’s and in developing countries is desirable

Languages                            

Local language essential. Mission language desirable

Knowledge
