Eligibility criteria

Minimum age: 35 years old. Nationals of the country of assignment are not eligible, except the assignments in Headquarters duty stations.

Description of task

Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of the Program coordinator of « Addressing GBV post COVID-19 in Tunisia » project or his designated mandated representative(s), the UNV Monitoring, Reporting and Research Expert will undertake the following tasks :

·         Coordinate with all program units, partners and any related stakeholders to collect information, upload documents and update indicators related to GBV with a focus on economic violence.

·         Coordinate with programme units on scheduled monitoring visits.

·         Ensure an administrative support to the program team relating to coordination with operations on procurement, contracting, finance functions and settlement of travel reimbursements if any.

·         Ensure proofreading and editing of copies of any related publication / study / report on gender and evaluation.

·         The expert is also responsible of data entry, analysis and interpretation of surveys and writing the subsequent reports.

·         Conduct the baseline study and collect values against all outcome and key output level indicators with regards to the project « Addressing GBV post COVID-19 in Tunisia »

·         Take full responsibility for data quality and, for any potential disaggregated focus group discussions (FGDs), he will ensure they are broken down by age and sex in accordance with sampling standards

·         Maintenance of all records/documents/files related to the unit and any other programmes in a user friendly manner.

·         Monitoring financial expenditure as per the M&E Annual workplan for effective financial delivery and any other work assigned by the Monitoring & Evaluation Analyst.

·         Contributing to the research process through preliminary research and policy briefs in addition to drafting the Terms of Reference for the research studies

·         Being involved with responsible team within the coordination and logistical preparation for events such as workshops, trainings, etc.

·         Any other related tasks as may be required or assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications/Requirements

Required degree level

Master degree or equivalent

Educational additional comments

Master’s degree in Economics, Social Sciences, Statistics, Population studies or equivalent with research component; or area related to gender, human rights and development studies;

Required experience

Experience remark

At least 15 years of professional work experience in Monitoring / Reporting / Research with demonstrated record of writing and/or publishing in the area of economic and corporate governance, development policy and development management, preferably at the national and/or international level in Arab countries or other relevant programmes; experience working in the UN or other international development organization is an asset;

Language skills

·         Arabic(Mandatory), Level - Fluent

·         French(Mandatory), Level - Fluent

·         English(Optional), Level - Working Knowledge

·         Ability to perform a variety of specialized tasks related to M&E, managing data, and reporting

·         Advanced knowledge in data analysis and familiarity with statistical packages such as SPSS / STATA is mandatory.

·         Research and report writing skills.

·         Excellent computer literacy skills (Word, Excel, PPT, Outlook, etc.).
