Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist

Background: The Center for Health Promotion and Research provides high-quality diagnostic services, undertakes programs to strengthen health provision, and engages in research to increase knowledge and inform policy change.

 

Position Summary: Manage the collection, processing, analysis and communication of high-quality data to enable the team to meet project targets. Full-time position based in Bamenda with ~ 5-15% travel to other regions.

 

Typical responsibilities, depending on skill set:

?   Monitor project activities and progress towards targets

?   Supervise data collection across project sites

?   Process and analyze data in line with project indicators

?   Communicate data summaries to key stakeholders

?   Assist to train and support project personnel with M&E tools

?   Identify and correct data collection, processing and analysis issues promptly and accurately

?   Develop and strengthen monitoring, inspection, and evaluation procedures

?   Assist in preparing Monthly/Quarterly/Annual reports on project progress

?   Assist in project planning and improvement of the logical frameworks

?   Work to deadlines as required by project timelines

?   Participate in regular team meetings to review progress and deliverables

?   Develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external contacts to foster effective work and future collaboration

?   Perform other duties as needed to ensure the success of the project

Job Qualifications:

?        Education: Bachelor or Master’s degree or equivalent in Health Sciences, Economics, Computer Sciences, Mathematics, or another relevant background

?        Preferred: 2+ years of experience in a similar position

?        Strong interest and passion to work as part of a team to improve public health       

?        Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, good working knowledge in French is an advantage

?        Ability to plan own work, set priorities and work under pressure

?        Excellent critical thinking skills

?        Proficient in Excel and other data management software and willingness to learn new programs as needed

?        A high level of initiative and the ability to work independently

?        Proven ability to work effectively as a member of a team in a fast-paced environment

This position is planned for 1 year with the possibility for renewal depending on funding availability.
