About the Venture

GIC Space LTD is a young social venture, with headquarters in Yaoundé, Cameroon, which has as objective to create, design and promote cutting edge and cost-effective medical technology innovations targeting the most pressing health challenges in the developing world. Its flagship product is called GICMED, a solution combining hardware and software innovations in the healthcare domain.

Job Description

As a sales marketing and sales lead, you'll sell the company's products, which include hardware devices and software packages, to a variety of customers including hospital directors, healthcare institutions, researchers and laboratories (life science in general), both nationally and internationally.

You'll work strategically to increase the awareness and use of the company's products.

It's likely that you will be based in a specific geographical location. You may have to make presentations and organise group events for target customers, as well as working with contacts on a one-to-one basis.

As a medical sales representative, you will be required to:

  • Have the ability to logically research and assess business capabilities to define business opportunities.
  • arrange appointments with hospital directors, laboratory directors, doctors, and hospital medical teams, which may include pre-arranged appointments or regular calling
  • make presentations to hospital directors, laboratory directors, doctors, and hospital medical teams
  • organise conferences for hospital directors, laboratory directors, doctors, and hospital medical teams
  • build and maintain positive working relationships with clients
  • keep detailed records of all contacts
  • Should have sound knowledge of creating business proposals & coordination with other functions within the organization.
  • reach, and if possible, exceed annual sales targets
  • win new customers, as well as developing long-term relationships with existing ones
  • plan work schedules on weekly and monthly timetables with the management team or discuss future targets with the management team.
  • regularly attend company meetings, technical data presentations and briefings
  • analyse sales data to improve results and make sure resources are effectively allocated
  • develop strategies for increasing opportunities to meet and talk to contacts in the medical and healthcare sector
  • Send weekly reports to management team
  • Be creative, innovative and smart.

 

Qualities we are looking for

  • A graduate in any related field: Marketing diploma or degree holders/ Medical Delegates/ Paramedical / Nurse / Laboratory technicians/ Engineer diploma/degree holders can apply. If you are a self-motivated professional with ability to drive results, then this can be for you.

·       Relevant experience with entrepreneur-minded people or ventures will be an asset

  • Some knowledge or experience in medical sales can be advantageous

·       Can work under pressure and be flexible in any situation

  • Adopts the most appropriate and dependable marketing and sales strategy to increase the short-term volume of sales.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Relevant work experience in a hospital placement or in a commercial environment may also improve your chances.
  • Be customer focused with strong interpersonal and communication skill.

·       Be proactive and interested in new ideas for sales and marketing activities

·       Have entrepreneur spirit and a team player

  • Proficient in computer skills
  • Bilingualism will be an added value
