HSD – Melt Group is searching for one of it’s clients, a multinational company, specialized in Food and Agro, an “Import and Export” Manager M/W, to accompany his activities in Cameroon.

Job Purpose:

Manage international trade operation.

Description of tasks:

  • Run the Sales
    • Align people in the same direction: agreement on sales plan, production plans and inventories projections.
    • Balance Material costs / Inventory level / Service level for an optimum result.
    • Find solutions with the local teams to increase the OTIF.
    • Execute exports.
    • Run the Imports of Materials, Spare parts, packaging, chemicals by sea freight or by airfreight.
  • Optimize Costs.
    • Improvement continuously of overall costs through monitoring and initiatives.
    • Focus people on Supply Chain added values by chasing the waste.
    • Liaising with accounts & finance regarding proper booking of expenses, approving expenses on time, timely payment of bills
  • Planning Execution.
    • Responsible for the entire flow of the goods (intercompany and direct customers): contracts management, booking monitoring, shipments, invoicing, export documentation.
    • Ensure a high commitment on the shipping plan by aligning all the stakeholders.
    • Flexible export logistic operations to adapt to the daily constraints (warehouse, loading, port…).
    • Optimization and Reduction of Imports Transit Time, import handling Costs and customs clearance costs and demurrages.
    • Custom clear the imported containers (spare parts, materials, chemicals, packagings) from port and airport on time.
    • Ensure OTIF and ATP for Exports are on target.
  • Suppliers Monitoring.
    • Monitoring Suppliers performance.
    • Maintenance of custom, customer and third party relations and participation in the organization’s sales activities.

Ideal candidate profile:

  • Education
    • Degree in international trade, logistics, sales and Finance or any other related field.
  • Experience
    • Extensive work experience of more than 4 years in a similar position. The applicant should clearly exhibit evidence of growing businesses and managing large teams and achievement of company sales targets.
  • Specific knowledge, competencies and skills required.
    • Dynamic personality with strong managerial skills and the capacity to relate to individuals from different cultures and back grounds.
    • Excellent track record of business development- especially on Import and export transactions.
    • Ability to act decisively to resolve problems, contributes to process and procedures improvment.

    • Strong interpersonal skills to motivate and instruct employees in the company.
    • Good knowledge on custom process.
    • Well-developed communicational skills and a customer orientation.
    • Fluent in French and English.
    • Computer literate and good knowledge of ERP.
    • Hands-on mentality, flexible and self-motivated.
    • Team player.
