IFS Services Manager at Globeleq

Main Purpose of Role 

Globeleq is implementing IFS Applications 9 across all sites in London and Africa as a single ERP system.  The scope of the single Globeleq IFS system includes all existing and future power plants, as well as the London headquarters and the following domains: 

  • Operations & maintenance
  • Project & construction  
  • Procurement 
  • Logistics 
  • Finance & controlling 
  • Consolidation & management reporting
  • Human capital management 
  • Environment & social governance 

The IFS Services Manager is responsible for providing technical leadership, direction and administration across the full lifecycle of IFS Applications projects: enhancement projects, rolling out the core model to new Globeleq sites, system changes, etc.  The IFS Services Manager will take part in developing the IFS roadmap for Globeleq.    

Key Main Responsibilities (this list is not exhaustive) 

  • Contribute to setting up the IFS Service Centre and procedures 
  • Manage the IFS Service Centre
  • Provide leadership and guidance to other IFS Service centre members 
  • Act as gardian of Globeleq’s core model and established processes 
  • Report to management and the Steering Committee on the KPI’s 
  • Work closely with project manager to secure the first go-live and en integration of next rollouts within the live system. 
  • Ensure core model business processes are respected and apply corrections with the users when necessary 
  • Ensure the appropriate execution of the operational processes across the sites 
  • Provide leadership and strategy to the Globeleq competency centre and ongoing IFS developments 
  • Act as an advisor to senior stakeholders regarding solution capabilities and possible solutions to business challenges 
  • Establish solid working relationships with key business stakeholders and an understanding of segment business models 
  • Provide meaningful ideas and processes to improve the overall group performance. Provide feedback to management for improvement of the team 
  • Provide feedback to management for improvement of the team 
  • Manage and monitoring software enhancements and evolutions  
  • Manage day to day user support (user access, passwords, other issues)
  • Ensure timely resolution of user issues by IFS Service Centre 
  • Show expertise in at least one domain (ideally O&M).

Experience, Knowledge & Qualifications 

The preferred candidate would have: 

  • Strong knowledge of an ERP system (in particular IFS Applications
  • Prior experience managing an ERP service centre 
  • Education to a degree level 
  • Project management skills 
  • ITIL (Service Management) certification  
  • Strong understanding of software development life cycle models, project management principles and practices
  • Prior knowledge in the power generation industry or similar asset intensive industry
  • Strong capability to interact with a remote IT team (especially in a cloud context) 
  • Deep knowledge of ticketing tools (freeware and software) 
  • Ability to interact with multi-team environment (interns and third-parties)
  • Resource Management / Dimensions  
  • Management of IFS Service Centre staff and “flying team” to roll out ERP solution to new Globeleq businesses across Africa    


TBA, although will involve extensive travel to Globeleq business sites, especially London in the first year
