About the Role:

Line Manager : Food Safety Coordinator

Type of contract : Full Time

Responsible for ensuring that the Plant is maintained in a sanitary state at all times and is rid of pests. Liaise with cleaning contractors, pest control agent, Up and Down Quality Stream Leaders, Microbiology Laboratory Supervisor, Food Safety & QA Coordinator, Up and Down Stream Leader, Maintenance Stream Leader and General Services Department to ensure this is achieved.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensure factory is operated under hygienic conditions
  • Assist the Food Safety & QA Coordinator in the weekly GMP audit and circulate reports
  • Communicate gaps observed (actions) for improvement to the shop floor
  • Co-ordinate equipment cleaning schedule and ensure relevant documentation is kept
  • Co-responsible for updating and implementation of site's Master Cleaning Schedule
  • Liaise with QA Stream Leaders and Microbiology Laboratory Supervisor on taking corrective actions for OOS EMP results
  • Liaise with QA Stream Leaders to conduct and document RCA on consistent OOS EMP results based on microbiology trends
  • Ensure staff and visitors' compliance to factory's GMP and hygiene policy
  • Conduct monthly personal hygiene inspection for personnel in the factory
  • Conduct weekly leaks inspection and communicate actions to stakeholders for improvement
  • Conduct weekly glasses and hard plastics inspection
  • Assist with GMP refresher training for employees
  • Conduct induction of visitors and contractors on factory GMP/Hygiene rules
  • Prepare a weekly report on weekly hygiene and GMP trends for the factory to key stakeholders
  • Assist with other QA activities when necessary
  • Support on Management of Cleaning Contractors:
  • Liaise with cleaning contractors to ensure the factory is always clean.
  • Ensure cleaners are always available for cleaning jobs
  • Ensure cleaning activities and cleaning equipment meet required standard as defined in contract
  • Train new cleaners on factory GMP/Hygiene rules and expectation
  • Ensure compliance to GMP rules by cleaning team
  • Conduct weekly audit of cleaning team to assess performance
  • Conduct weekly performance review meetings with contract cleaners

About You: 

  • Bachelor of Science in Quality Management or Food Science/Technology or Biotechnology, Microbiology, Biochemistry or other related field with minimum 3 years of experience in the food industry, in Quality Assurance, Food Safety or similar role 
  • Knowledge of MS package (especially google spreadsheet)
  • Knowledge of English Language is a must
  • Flexibility
  • Aptitude to work both independently and within a team environment
  • Ability to plan and complete work assignments
  • Organizational and interpersonal skills
