Purpose of Role

To partner with the GCSA Capex manager, supply finance, financial control, Trade Assets Specialist, SSC and the entire finance function in the delivery of robust control environment and accounting of fixed assets and Capex, Fixed Asset Verification (monthly, quarterly & yearly), Quarterly Asset Re-life and reconciliation process. This role will also support the Tax and Reporting team in statutory accounting work, etc.

Accountabilities

As Fixed Asset Accountant:

Accounting

  • Manage Fixed Asset Register (Management and Statutory) including additions, Non-project assets, transfers, disposals & depreciation;
  • Organize and oversee the monthly, quarterly & annual fixed asset verification process and timely follow up and closure of all actions related to identified issues.
  • Organize and oversee fixed asset revaluation as per Management and statutory requirement
  • Prepare month / year end closing journals.
  • Organize and oversee the annual nationwide crates and bottles
  • Census /check and timely follow the implementation of agreed actions to fix identified issues.
  • Review the fixed asset schedules prepared by the SSC to ensure completeness & accuracy; follow-up & clear queries & reconciliation items promptly.
  • Reviewed and confirm the depreciation figures calculated by SSC before posting.
  • Review and confirm monthly CAPEX settlement before Processing.
  • Ensure that information such as description etc. provided to the SSC on fixed assets additions, disposals & transfers are correct.

Monthly Reports

  • Provide all fixed asset or capex information’s to team in order to achieve the Business target (reporting, FD checklists).
  • Prepare all fixed asset month-end reports.

Business partnering

  • Provide timely information to the SSC as requested on any fixed asset related issue
  • Respond for all query resolution for both SSC, KPMG and government authorities.
  • Organise ADC meetings and follow up on all actions and resolution taken during this meeting
  • Create the right forums with various stakeholders where needed to make sure all fixed assets issues are handled in an efficient manner.

Processes

  • Is the custodian of the company fixed assets policy and as such, must make sure all fixed assets transactions are performed according to the signed off and communicated policy.
  • Make sure all fixed assets tasks described in the company fixed assets policy are rigorously performed, on time in full.
  • Review the Company fixed asset policy at least once per year for updates where needed.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Finance graduate Qualification, Minimum Bac + 3.
  • Project management skills

Experience

3+ years’ experience in GCSA Finance or related field, customer relationship experience is a plus, but not required.
