JOB ANNOUNCEMENT

 The Georgetown University Center for Global Health Practice and Impact (CGHPI) serves countries to improve their population health and wellbeing and to safeguard against health-related threats by advancing the use of evidence and human-centered enterprise architecture on the path towards achieving equity and social justice. To achieve this mission, we catalyze the uptake, spread, and implementation of innovations; triangulate data from different sources, and tailor visualization of the information for each audience; design and implement integrated service delivery models; support communities of practice to inform policy and practice through efficient data use and horizontal and vertical collaboration; disseminate best practices and evidence globally through open source learning networks; build global, collaborative, multi-disciplinary, and interprofessional networks; undertake research that is informed by local needs; and invest in local leadership to own, provide oversight, and sustain implemented interventions. Georgetown University, through CGHPI, has recently received an award from U.S Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (U.S. CDC) through funding from the U.S President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) to support HIV response efforts in Cameroon for achievement of HIV epidemic control to implement a program titled Translating Data and Evidence into Impact (TIDE). As a result, CGHPI is recruiting for the following program implementation positions. All prospective candidates must be fluent in French and working knowledge of English. These positions will be based in Yaoundé or Bertoua. CGHPI is operating in Cameroon as Georgetown Global Health LLC (GGHC)

 GGHC Office Position

 Position:                       Executive Assistant, TIDE Program Cameroon

Reports to:                   Country Program Director

Position Overview:       The Country Program Director Assistant is responsible for providing comprehensive support to the Country Program Director, including coordinating tasks, ensuring effective relations with local and national authorities, and contributing to the context analysis and follow-up in order to facilitate coordination tasks in the mission.

 Essential Functions

·       Provide sophisticated calendar management for the Country Program Director; prioritize inquiries and requests while troubleshooting conflicts; make judgements and recommendations to ensure smooth day-to-day engagements

·    Complete a broad variety of administrative tasks that facilitate the Country Program Director’s ability to effectively lead the organization, including: assisting with special projects; designing and producing documents, reports, and presentations; collecting and preparing information for meetings with staff and outside parties; composing and preparing correspondence; maintaining contact lists (government officials, CDC, local media representatives, senior officials from other relevant national and international organizations); making travel arrangements; and completing expense reports

·     Arrange meetings and workshops chaired/attended by the Country Program Director, notifying participants about the date and time and if required, provides participants with background information on the subject matter

·     Draft correspondence, documents, and reports, some of which are highly confidential; checks outgoing correspondence for accuracy, conformity with overall policy or specific instructions prior to presentation to the Country Program Director’s for signature

·     Coordinate all leadership meetings, and provide logistical support for staff meetings and retreats, including scheduling meetings, drafting agendas, developing, compiling, and distributing presentation materials, and recording meeting minutes

·      Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external constituencies on all matters pertaining to the Country Program Director, including those of a highly confidential or critical nature; prioritize and determine appropriate course of action, referral, or response

·      Work closely with the Country Program Director to keep them well informed of upcoming commitments and responsibilities, following up appropriately

·   Receive, screen, log, and route correspondence, attaching necessary background information as needed; utilizes a follow up system to ensure timely response

·     Act as a liaison between the Country Program Director and other country support staff, such as Human Resources, Finances, and Operations

·       Translate/interpret as necessary

·       Perform other duties as requested

 Qualifications and Experience

·      Secondary education supplemented by formal studies in secretarial or office organization

·       Minimum 4 years of working experience in an administrative role at a large national or international organization, with practical experience in senior secretarial or clerical work

·       Strong verbal and written communication skills

·       Exceptional organizational skills and impeccable attention to detail

·       Make appropriate, informed decisions regarding priorities and available time

·    Ability to complete a high volume of tasks and projects with little or no guidance

·       Ability to anticipate needs and think critically

·      Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion in working with diverse groups of people and handling confidential information

·       Computer literate with practical experience in Microsoft packages

·       Professional fluency in oral and written English and French

·     Good interpersonal skills and ability to establish and maintain effective working relations in a multi-cultural environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity

 Work Environment

·       Standard 8-hour workday applies but must be willing to put in extra hours and work on weekends when necessary in order to meet deadlines or oversee program events.
