Job Description

Job Summary

  • Responsible for developing BIC sales in the territory in line with BIC objectives
  • Work in partnership with the local distributors in order to find innovative and efficient ways to help boosting the BIC business.

2.    Main Responsibilities / Tasks

Market Intelligence

  • Regular field visits to understand and analyze local market trends for each BIC product category in the area of responsibility (Angola, Cameroon, Chad, Central African Republic, Congo, Democratic Republic of Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Sao Tome & Principe) in order to develop the BIC brand penetration and market-share
  • Scope of the analysis:
    • Distribution network
    • Customer analysis
    • BIC positioning
    • Competition analysis: price, product, distribution, promotion
  • Anti-counterfeiting surveillance

Business Development

Ø  Analyze business model of the local distributors

  • Distribution network and route to market
  • Customer and product portfolio
  • Employee efficiency
  • BIC focus
  • Sales & marketing actions

Ø  Develop and support local distributors

  • Train and support local sales team: product knowledge, field visit
  • Respond to and follow up sales enquiries & orders
  • Plan and prioritize personal sales activities and customer/prospect contact
  • Lead and manage the distributor relationship with Key Accounts
  • Follow up implementation of agreed marketing plans in close cooperation with BIC West & Central Africa Sales & Marketing Managers
  • In Market Sales (IMS) analysis

Identify business opportunities

  • Distribution channels
  • Product mix
  • Marketing actions (POSM, promotion…)

Key Performance Indicators / Key Figures

  • Achieve Numerical Distribution / Market Share / Visibility targets
  • Accuracy, frequency, and quality of market data reporting
  • Accuracy, frequency, and quality of BIC local action reporting
  • SWOT analysis of local distributors
  • Local marketing plan implementation and follow up
  • Number of proposed & implemented actions and results
  • Number of outlets and countries visited

Qualifications

  • R - At least 3-5 years in a Sales Management or BDM role in FMCG or relevant consumer goods industry, in Central Africa
  • R - Perfect knowledge of Microsoft operating system especially Power-Point & Excel
  • D - Some trade marketing experience would be beneficial
  • Business degree / diploma or similar, advanced degree preferred
  • Valid driving license     
  • No direct people management.
  • Speaks fluent French and English. Knowledge of local language(s) a plus.
  • Ready to travel intensively within the assigned territory and work on the field (70% of the time)
  • International mobility a plus
