The Management of PRIMA FINANCE AND INVESTMENT PLC is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Assistant General Manager.

 

ORGANISATION CONTENT AND SCOPE

 

Prima Finance & Investment Plc is a growing microfinance institution (MFI) in Cameroon with the mission to provide sustainable financial services to the poor to help them work their way out of poverty. To achieve this, we offer products and services – Savings, Insurance, Money Transfer, Payments, Loans, digital finance products and Financial Education (SIMPLE). The company specialises in offering innovative financial services to those traditionally excluded from the formal financial services sector in the country. These are usually the poor, self-employed, small business owners, and community organisations lacking the finance to grow their businesses or other investments. Prima Finance & Investment PLC offers services surpassing many other MFIs in Cameroon thanks to our state-of-the-art technology and strong management team.

 

POSITION INFORMATIONS

·         Post Title: Assistant General Manager

·         Duty station: Yaounde, Cameroon

·         Reports to Managing Director

·         Duration of appointment: Permanent with a yearly renewable contract upon performance assessment.

·         Probation period: 3 months probation period with the possibility of extension.

·         Language required: English and French

JOB DESCRIPTION

Under the supervision of Managing Director, the Assistant General Manager shall be responsible for achieving the company objectives, formulating company plans, implementation, and strategies and presenting them to the Managing Director for approval. The AGM will keep the GM informed of its progress towards its goals, plans, and all issues deviations from its goals, strategies, and objectives. The AGM shall comply with bylaws approved by the board and all other applicable laws of COBAC relating to the operation of the financial sector. For this, AGM experience shall be helping hands for undertaking business of the company. Assistant General Manager shall also be responsible for exercising leadership in various areas:

·         Strategic Leadership

·         Financial / Business Leadership

·         Administrative Leadership/ Human Resource Management

·         Procurement and Contract Management

·         Public Relation Management

·         Monitoring and Controlling

·         Social and Environmental

·         Due Diligence of the Projects

·         Research and Development

·         Addendum The duties,

·         Reporting and Deliverables

·         Working Relationship

·         Eligibility Requirements

·         Legal Requirements

MAIN RESPONSABILITIES

·         Represents the GM of PRIMA in all civil finance and legal actions as may be assigned by the General Manager (GM).

·         Visas transactions and submits to the authorisation of the Managing Director

·         Assists the General Manager in the preparation of budget and project of performance production of administrative account and manual report of the performance of prima with expertise in all matters related to Business Development, Marketing and Communication.

·         Directs and controls as instructed by the General Manager, all activities to be implemented by the General Manager and assists the GM to take part in all Board of Directors meetings

·         Controls technical budgetary Business Development of activities carried out by PRIMA

·         Propose policy and strategy for the achievement of the finance marketing and communication objectives of PRIMA

·         Supervision the plan of action instructed by the Managing Director for business development and communication issues

·         Propose innovative solutions for retail banking and digital banking activities

COMPETENCES

·         Strategic and organisational management of resources of a financial institution

·         Team leadership and coaching skills

·         Project management and conception

·         Mastery of administrative banking procedures and those in force with all partners

·         Mastery of national and international banking procedures

·         Apt with banking procedures

 

 

SKILLS

·         Flexible and resourceful; the ability to work in a fast-growing institution

·         A thorough understanding of microfinance performance metrics, indicators, and the ability to interpret and process operations data

·         Analytical Thinking

·         Excellent communication skills

·         Strong leadership skills and ability to develop staff.

·         Strong Financial Acumen

QUALIFICATIONS:

·         Masters in Banking and Finance, Economic or other related Subject

·         Certified banker with at least a bac +5 in Banking and Finance

·         Ongoing Certification in banking with at least a bac +5 in Banking and Finance

·         At least five years of the banking sector or similar strategic experience
