Job Responsibilities of an Accounting/Tax Associate at FeMo Ltd

 

 

This job description is designed to assist in your understanding of what is required of you to successfully complete the role as Accounting/Tax Associate at FeMo Ltd. It is not designed to be a rigid and all-encompassing list of tasks.

Hence tasks may change at any time based on the needs of our business operations & client’s requirements

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

 

·        Prepare of draft financial statements for review, from the source documents provided by clients, involving the coding of records and preparation for data processing.

·        Prepare a draft Tax calculation, validate and file Income Tax returns.

·        In collaboration with other staffs designated, prepare GST Returns (Annual Tax Returns) and file with the relevant Tax Authorities

·        Quickly learn & acquire working knowledge of the computer system for journal entries processing and reports compilations.

·        Take full charge and support the requirements of the assigned clients (end to end)

·        Communicate directly with Clients and Tax Authorities to resolve issues regarding any Tax or other government inquiry, and fully assist the Client during Tax Audit

·        Maintain electronic records pertaining to each assigned client per Records retention policy

·        Perform accounting support tasks as required

·        General office clerical and other duties as required.

 

·        Prepare monthly, quarterly, and tax returns and obtain approval for filing

·        Estimate and track tax returns

·        Organize and update the company’s tax database

·        Recommend Tax strategies that align with business goals and objectives

·        Prepare necessary paperwork for tax payments and returns

·        Share financial data with the accounting department

·        Identify tax savings and suggest ways to increase profits

·        Follow industry trends and track changes related to taxes

 

EXPERIENCE

·        Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in preparing financial statements under OHADA principles, preparing monthly and annual tax return

·        Employee is expected to have good understanding of the general taxation Code, including Income Tax, GST, PIT, VAT, and other withholding Taxes, applicable to self-employed and business clients.

·        Employee is highly expected to have a working knowledge of information systems and associated general software packages Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Excel being a MUST

·        Be familiar with accounting software packages, e.g.; QuickBooks Online, Sage, or SAP

 

SKILLS and EDUCATION

·        BSc in Accounting or Business Administration or equivalent

·        Computers and relevant software applications

·        Fluency in English & French required

·        Good listening skills

·        Good verbal and written communication, capable of leading Demo and presenting to Client

·        Good with figures/math - keyboard/calculator

·        Adhere to the requirement for accuracy and confidentiality
